Trump Back On Top In Latest Quinnipiac Poll

Donald Trump is back on top according to the latest Quinnipiac University Poll released Tuesday, Nov. 24. According to the poll, Trump came away with 25 percent of Iowa likely Republican caucus-goers votes, but it was a close race with Senator Ted Cruz of Texas who captured 23 percent—doubling his stats from four weeks ago. Dr. Ben Carson moved to the third spot with 19 percent and Florida Senator Marco Rubio tallied 13 percent. Jeb Bush continues to struggle in gaining support as he drops from five percent down to four. Assistant Director of the Quinnipiac Poll, Peter A. Brown, says we are really seeing a two-tiered contest with Trump and Carson leading the outsider track and Senators Cruz and Rubio leading among party insiders. Other candidates, he says, will need miraculous comebacks to crack into the top tier with just slightly more than two months left before the Feb. 1 Iowa caucus.
