Florida Senator and GOP Presidential candidate Marco Rubio has said the system is broken all the way around when it comes to immigration. During his town hall meeting in Carroll this week, he said the enforcement system is not working, the legal system is outmoded and millions of immigrants have lived here for years illegally. He said it is time for a system overhaul and as President, he will move the country toward merit-based immigration.
He said the point is, the primary criteria for allowing immigrants into the United States in the 21st century has to be what skills they bring with them.
Rubio wants to enact legislation that will incorporate his views and mandate the system be used and the legislation followed in order to earn the right to citizenship.
