At approximately 3:49 p.m. yesterday (Sunday), 60-year-old Mark Henry Hoffan of Lake City was traveling north on Robin Avenue northeast of Lidderdale in a 2002 Chevrolet K1500 pickup when he noticed a vehicle approaching the intersection with 150th Street from the east. After seeing the vehicle was going to make a stop, he proceeded through the intersection, which resulted in his being struck by a westbound 2011 Chevrolet Silverado K1500 driven by 56-year-old Denis John Wittrock of Glidden. After an investigation by the Carroll County Sheriff’s office, it was determined that Hoffan had failed to yield the right of way at an uncontrolled intersection. No injuries were reported, but there was an estimated $3,500 in damage to the Hoffan truck and $6,500 damage to the Wittrock vehicle.
