New designated play area offers safety & activities for students at Carroll Middle School

Installation of a new playground area at the Carroll Middle School is underway following the move of 5th grade students to the building last year. Since the kids used an area of the parking lot previously to work off some steam it was determined a new designated play area was needed to insure student safety. Prior to the move Board Member Jen Munson mentioned how the relocation has taken some weight off her mind.

The new location, just west of the middle school building, offers a lot more green space, access to nearby soccer fields, new playground equipment, and a newly poured 60’ X 125’ concrete slab which students will get to enjoy playing basketball on. K&B Construction poured the concrete at a cost of $48,750 and in the future a gated fence will also be installed at location. At their most recent meeting the school board also approved the installation cost of new playground equipment at Adams Elementary School for $9,500 bid by Outdoor Recreation Products from whom they also purchased the equipment.
