City Makes Progress On Several Long-Term Projects

Several Carroll city projects have been making headway in recent weeks. The Carroll Rec Center fitness room footings outside of the building have been poured and last week demolition on the east racquetball court got underway. The 10th Street project is also nearing completion according to City Manager, Gerald Clausen. Intersections are now open from East Street to Salinger.

He added that though the weather has not been as cooperative as they had hoped, they are still anticipating work to be concluded this construction season. Workers have also been able to forge ahead on the city well project. Clausen said the transmission lines are all in place for the wells, concrete for the structure is poured and the materials for the pump building are on site.

Clausen added that, historically, they have been able to pour concrete in December and January and the only concrete left to add is a pad in one driveway where the grade is too steep for other materials. The city is anxious to bring the wells online, get the additional testing done and, hopefully, meet the deadline the set for them to be fully functional in the spring of next year.
