Carroll Police To Receive Training On New Body Worn Cameras

Carroll, Iowa — Carroll Police Chief Brad Burke said the new body worn cameras were received by the department two weeks ago, and they will be conduction training on the use. He said no officer will be issued their camera until they have completed the required training and have knowledge of the police department policy on their use. Burke explained the development of the new policy.

Councilman Jerry Fleshner asked about the operation and automatic features of the Digital Ally First Vu Cameras.

Burke explained how the cameras are synced to the emergency lights in the patrol vehicles.

Burke added that under the policy guidelines, there would be no reason for the cameras to be turned off by the officers.
