A Once Every 50 Years Or So Request For Carroll City Council

Carroll City Attorney, David Bruner, said that only about once every 47 years or so is the city asked to abandon its sanitary sewer easement rights.

The property in Nichols First Addition is an approximately 1.5 acre parcel on Highway 30 on the east side of Carroll. It is currently up for sale, and the attorney for the property owner is asking that the easement be abandoned. Bruner said no sanitary sewer line presently exists on this part of the original 80 acres; the sewer service is in place through an existing right of way.

He asked the council to set a public hearing for the next meeting on Oct. 12. At that time, Bruner said, they will vote on a resolution to abandon the easement.
