At approximately 5:32 p.m. on Friday Nov. 27, the Carroll County Sheriff’s office reported to the scene of a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 120th Street and Highway 71 north of Carroll. A 1986 Ford Crown Victoria, driven by 54-year-old Kay Francis Wernimont of Breda was turning westbound from Highway 71 onto 120th Street, when it was struck by a 2003 Buick Rendezvous driven by 35-year-old April Lynn Anderson of Carroll. Anderson was northbound on 71 and tried to pass Wernimont within the intersection, striking her vehicle just behind the driver’s door. Wernimont reported possible injuries, but was not transported for treatment. There was an estimated $3,000 in damage to the Anderson vehicle and $2,000 in damage to the Wernimont vehicle. Anderson was cited for Prohibited Passing.
