and the winner is....
the
Carroll County Recycling buildings!
This was a project sent into us by Annie Johnston of
Ralston. We will be working with the Carroll
County Recycling Center and Ace Hardware of Carroll to
repair, repaint and post signs to make recycling easier
for lots of communities here in Carroll County.
Ace Hardware will be donating the painting materials
needed, as well as the new recycling containers inside
the buildings. Carroll County Recycling will be
making needed repairs to the buildings, such as a new
roof or maybe new hinges on the doors and new signs.
We will be completing the painting and clean up sometime
in May. These buildings are located in Glidden,
Lanesboro, Willey, Arcadia, Dedham and Ralston.
Thanks again to Ace Hardware and the Carroll County
Recycling Center for all their efforts!

We received so many great
entries that deserved to be completed that we have
enlisted some area businesses and we were able to get a
number of them done! Here's a quick outline of
other projects that you will see completed soon.

KUEMPER CATHOLIC GRADE SCHOOL
This project was sent in by Terry
Pudenz of Carroll. The idea was to brighten up the
entry for the north side of the Holy Spirit school
entrance with fresh flowers and plantings.
Enchanted Gardens of Carroll, was so kind as to donate
the plants necessary to accomplish this task!
Volunteers will be completing this project.

TEMPLETON SIGN
Templeton Mayor Ken Behrens, wrote us about this sign
needed to be restored to it's new condition. Well
Ken, thanks again to the great people at Enchanted
Gardens, that will happen soon! Enchanted Gardens
will again donate the needed plants to complete this
project. Ken will be busy rounding up volunteers
for this project from Templeton to get the work done!
If you would like to volunteer, contact Ken!
BREDA SIGN
This was such a great letter sent to us from the Breda
Girl Scout Troop 273, who will use this project to earn
their Silver Award Honor. It' the second highest
award that girl scouts can earn. They will earn it
with the ambitious project or landscaping, repainting
the sign and fresh new plantings to bring it to life!
Bomgaars of Carroll has stepped up here to help these
great young ladies get this done with the donation of
landscape materials, paint, brushes and plants.
The Breda sign should be looking great soon and you have
Bomgaars and the Girl Scouts to thank for that.
CARROLL VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK
Mark Beardmore of Carroll wrote us
about his desire to finish off the newest Carroll park.
Mark also offered his financial assistance in getting
this completed. We couldn't agree more and Carroll
Broadcasting is also donating money to the project.
There are many others who have also donated to this
worth while project. We talked with the city of
Carroll and with those donations they will be able to
complete new landscaping and fresh plantings to make
this park something special for the community, as it
should be! Thanks to Mark and all those who
donated and to the city of Carroll for giving this
project the green light and getting this done in time
for the dedication.
DEDHAM SIGN
Dedham will be celebrating their
Quasquicentennial this summer and Kate Miller, who
from what we understand spends a lot of time planting
every year around the community, told us about the three
signs that were in need to an update. This project
was a big one that not only involved a contribution from
Dedham and a special donation from Carroll Broadcasting,
but a big offer from Juergens Lawn and Landscaping of
Carroll. Donations from Juergens will play
for one of the signs, Carroll Broadcastings donation
will cover a second and the Dedham city donation will
cover the third. On top of all that, Juergens will
provide all the labor needed to complete the new look of
these three signs in time for their celebration this
summer.
We just couldn't say thank you
enough to the businesses who are participating in these
projects. You guys always get requests for help
and we appreciate you helping us here. Without
your generous support worthwhile projects such as these
would go undone. Thanks for making our little part
of the world a little brighter and certainly more
GREEN!!!
