OA BCIG gets biodiesel grant

Carroll, Iowa -- The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association is awarding two Iowa schools grants through its Biodiesel Backer Award Program. One of the two recipients for the $2,500 dollar grant is the Odebolt-Arthur and Battle Creek-Ida Grove School Districts in Ida County. Each spring OA-BCIG hosts a service day where students volunteer to clean up schools and city parks. Next school year the district will try to set up a day to educate students and staff about biodiesel and jobs that are available at the local Galva and Wall Lake plants. OA-BCIG has been using biodiesel since 2008.
