Maple River well projects bid approved

Carroll, Iowa -- Breshnahan Well and Drilling of Battle Creek will begin drilling a well at the Maple River treatment facility.  Their bid of $6,350 was approved Monday by the board of supervisors.  The county received 4 bids including bids from Mid-American Drilling of Oakland, Iowa and Middendorff Well of Sioux Rapids.  Their bids were lower than Breshnahan but didn’t include the cost for the pump, tank, hydrant and other issues.  The board reviewed the bids are approved the Breshnahan bid as the low bid.  The contract has been sent to the Rural Development Office for approval since the funding for the project will come from a previous rural development grant.
